A successful climb of Somnus
Climbed Somnus on the 2nd of January, a peak of 2,300m in the Humboldt Range of Mt Aspiring NP. The weather was fab and snow was still fairly good. Myself, Ruari and Jono climbed it while Emerson ended up doing Emily pass that day due to crampon difficulties....We accessed it via the couloir and it was still reasonably good due to the cold spring we've had but i think in the next few weeks it'll start to open up pretty significantly. Beaut day on the tops, sunny, no wind, great company and "great success," praise the Lord!!!
