Why I like holidays
I have for a long time decided that holidays are some of the best times in my life. I don't like a job that makes you work for 48 weeks a year but I'm sort of half resigned to the fact that some day I'll have to do it for awhile at least. Regardless of this the reason why I like my holidays so much is that 1) I work reasonably hard when I'm not on holiday, therefore making a holiday something out of the ordinary and 2) because I always have such good fun when I do have one. This semester break is going to be no exception with a trip to Stewart Is and Port Pegasus with Dad and Ols. Here's some pictures from a cool website www.cleangreen.co.nz that has a whole bunch of awesome photos of beautiful South Island NZ including Stewart Island. All by a cool guy called Gilbert Van Reenen whose quite a photographer. (This picture inserted months later is from that great trip to Port Pegasus, this is from atop Bald Cone.)
In other news isn't it great to see the mighty reds lift the Champions League trophy for the first time in 21 years. For those of you who think I'm a tag along with the successful club then you are mistaken. Liverpool have been my team for over 8 years. In that time the only times I've really had something to cheer about were the treble season of 2001 and of course yesterday. Given that in the last 8 years really the in teams or the very successful teams have been Man U or Arsenal and then of course most recently Chelsea I would therefore label myself a committed (despite results and public opinion) Liverpool fan. Now I finally have something to cheer about again along with the rest of the hoard of Liverpool fans out there. I like supporting winners, there's no question, and a team of winners I do indeed support.
